Gresford started brightly on the tricky surface, and almost had the perfect start with Jon Taylor hitting the woodwork from close range. Ioan Davies again showing strength and determination down the right and he constantly provided quality into the box that was not matched by his team mates. somewhat, Gresford raised the tempo of the game and begun to stretch their opposition. Stefan Edwards down the left to again deliver quality crosses and it was surely a matter of time before the young Gresford side would open up the scoring. Both Nathan Pugh and Paul Mitchell soon begun to have more space in the centre of midfield and some neat build up play on 65mins resulted in Jon Taylor to place the ball into the bottom right side of the Borras goalkeeper, who to be fair had kept them in the game until now! It was evident that the Borras boys had not worked as hard in pre-season training and Gresford looked to be getting stronger as the game went on. On 80 mins after a good run into the box by Stefan Edwards which resulted in a penalty kick.. Up stepped Kev Hope who made no mistake in scoring and cemented our win.
