In awful blustery conditions, this game was never going to be a classic. But after only 10mins gone Nathan Pugh delivered an inch perfect pass for Stefan Edwards to run onto, he rounded the keeper to slot the ball home easily. Some slack defending and hesitance from goalkeeper Nick Underwood, saw Brickfield gifted an equaliser after 30mins, and the score line remained the same deep into the second half. When the game seemed to be dull and lacked any real spark, Nathan Pugh unleashed a volley from 25yrds out to light up the game with a piece of brilliance on 70mins gone. Only minutes later George Koumas was put through and he made no mistake when lobbing the ball over the advancing keeper, 1-3. Gresford believed the game was out of reach for the battling Brickie, but on 85mins they got in round the back and converted to marrow the lead, 2-3. On the stroke of full time Gresford had the opportunity to widen the score line when awarded a penalty kick, Captain Micky Latham stepped up to sky the ball over the bar! Team: 1.
