With Gresford travelling to High flying Hawarden with a scratch team of 11 players the writing seemed to be on the wall and it looked like taking the lambs to the slaughter! But the boys worked hard in the glorious sunshine and fought hard to establish themselves early on and after only 88mins Gresford took the lead at shell shocked Hawarden. From a great through ball from George Koumas, Daz Jones ran on to it from the left and buried it in the bottom corner. It has to be said that the 11 players gave their all during the whole ninety minutes and on 65mins Hawarden were lucky to get back into the game from a deflected shot. Hawarden tried allsorts to take all 3 points from this encounter, but Gresford grew stronger and stronger and defied all the odds to remain well on top in the game and could of even won it with Ioan Davies in particular having two great shots stopped by the hawarden keeper.
