Early pressure from Gresford and Jon Taylor in spectacular form running the back line of Celts ragged. On 10 mins Kev Hope swings in a smashing free kick towards the Celts goal which was met by Max Peate, but narrowly missing the target. On 15mins Jon Taylor tests the Celts keeper and defence to see his effort cleared off the line. Minutes later a excellent corner kick was met by Alex Game, but he headed against the woodwork. Totally against the run of play Cardiff score from a neat cross and a well headed goal for Ryan Nunnerly. 1-0. Minutes later Celts double the margin, to make it two and leave Gresford shell shocked. To their credit, Gresford never gave up and came storming back moments later with Jon Taylor skipping past the last defender, only to be hauled down, penalty. Jon Taylor got himself up and made no mistake from the spot. 2-1. The game was full of action and on 27mins Gresford had a great chance to level the score's. Kev Hope's great delivery was again met by Max Peate, but again narrowly missing the target. But on 35mins a great corner by Jonny Taylor was met by the impressive Robbie Gibson to send the teams in at half time all square. The early exchanges of the second half belonged to Gresford who so desperately tried for the next goal, Dan Brown sent in a teasing centre for Jonnny Taylor, which was headed just over. With both teams tiring, extra time loomed and it was a moment of loss of concentration that cost Gresford dear. A long throw was met by a Celts player and he flicked the ball on, and it sailed into the far corner of the goal with Mike Platt stranded. 3-2. With Gresford pushing for the equaliser Celts broke away and from a Free Kick that evaded everyone, they soon had their fourth goal and game over.
