Both teams started the game brightly with Gresford creating the first chance. A long punt up field by keeper Gareth Rowland finding Craig Williams whose fist time shot was well saved by Andy Hughes in the home goal. Buckley responded with a Kevin Breeze shot that went over the bar. Buckley then created another good chance that was wasted. Gresford were also creating good chance in an open attacking game. The only goal of the game came after twenty nine minutes when Eddie Morris-Jones found Craig Williams with a good ball and Gresford's leading scorer slipped the ball passed Hughes. Morris-Jones then tried his luck from twenty yards but failed to hit the target

Gresford started the second half well with Shaun and Alan Williams controlling he midfield. Gresford had a great claim for a penalty turned down when Craig Williams was upended as looked likely to add a second goal. Buckley came more into the game as the half progressed and forced Rowland in the Gresford goal into an excellent save from close range. Buckley threw everything at Gresford but with Steve Halliwell and Max Peate in commanding form were finding it difficult to break through. Shaun Williams then almost created another chance for name sake Craig with a good ball. Gresford were now playing their best football\of the season with every player giving his all an they almost added a second goal with an excellent chip shot from Danny Purdie that came back off the inside of the post. Substitute Josh Page almost finished off a good move involving Shaun Williams and Danny Purdie as Gresford looked to kill off the game. Rowland (pictured) then came to Gresford's rescue with a great save to prevent Buckley equalising. Gresford's resolute defending was`preventing Buckley created but hen they did they could not beat the inspired Rowland who made a fantastic save to keep out another goal bound shot. Gresford were now holding out for a win as Buckley threw everything at them. With time running out thy thought they had grabbed an equaliser only for Rowland to thwart them again with a fantastic double save to earn his side the three points
