The game started evenly with any chances until the fifteenth minute when slack defensive play by Gresford allowed John Hill to fire Flint in front with a low shot into the corner. Gresford kept giving the ball away but almost equalised when Flint conceded a free kick on the edge of their penalty area after a great run from Phil Jones, Shaun Williams firing the resulting free kick wide.

Flint started brightly in the second half and had a great chance to go two up but Chris Boulton fired over the bar from six yards out. They did double their lead in the seventieth minutes when more slack defensive work by Gresford allowed Stuart Hughes to pick his spot . Player coach Alan Williams (pictured) did his best to try and get Gresford back into the game but Flint ran out comfortable winners on the day
