FIRST TEAM MATCH REPORT
Flint Town United 2 Gresford Athletic 1 Tuesday 17th. October 2006

Flint started brighly and only an excellent save from Gareth Rowland prevented them taking an early lead. Gresford's Eddie Morris-Jones then tried his luck from twenty yards with a shot that the Fluint keeper could not hold, the rebound almost falling to Craig Williams. Williams and Morris-Jones then played a one two and Andy Hughes in the home goal made a good save to prevent Gresford going ahead. They did not have to wait long for in their next attack Morris-Jones opened the scoring with a thunderbolt from the edge of the box. Slack marking in the Gresford six yard box presented Kevin Leach with a free header to equalise five minutes later. Manager Sammy Jones will have been pleased with Gresford's first half performance.

Five minutes later Flint went ahead for the first time when substitute Chris Boulton headed home from five yards. Gresford continued to play good attacking football and Craig Williams almost had them level with an overhead kick that went narrowly wide. Gresford's performance deserved at least a draw and it almost came when Shaun Williams hit the bar from a free kick. Gresford will play worse than this season and win.
