Guilsfield took the game to Gresford from the off and create a few half chances, but it was Gresford who almost scored the first goal. Phil Jones just failing to get on the end of a Kevin Hope cross. Gresford then gifted Guilsfield the opener which Tom Reynolds gratefully converted. A Phil Jones free kick was then tipped over the bar by Mike Barton, Barton then saved from Hope after he was set up by the bust Craig Williams. Guilsfield had dominated the first half but failed to covert three of four excellent chances.

Gresford were level two minutes into the second half, Josh Page firing home after good work from Kevin Todd and Shaun Williams. Page and Phil Jones went close to giving Gresford the lead before Kevin Hope lashed home a great goal from twenty yards to put them the advantage after fifty four minutes. Jones should have scored again when well placed but fired recklessly over the bar. Guilsfield put pressure on Gresford looking for an equaliser but with Gareth Rowland commanding his box well and Kevin Todd and Max Peate forming a solid defensive wall they failed to break through. Gresford were playing some of their best football of the season and with player coach Alan Williams (pictured) marshalling his young side well they should have gone three one up when Phil Jones smashed a good chance high and wide. Jones did add Gresford's third in the last minute to seal a fine win after an excellent second half performance
