Gresford started brightly and Craig Williams forced Phil Owen into a good save after he latched on to Shaun Williams through ball. Matt Davies then created a chance for Craig Williams which he volley home to put the home side ahead. Gresford were playing well at this stage but it was Llan who almost scored the second goal of the game when they forced Gareth Rowland in the home into a good save at the foot of the post. Ioan Davies on his debut for Gresford then created a chance that was wasted. On the stoke of half time Gresford should have doubled their lead , good work from Wyn Jones and Craig Williams creating a chance for Matt Davies which he fired over the bar.

Llangefni came out for the second half in dominant mood and equalised with thirty seconds when slack marking in the Gresford defence allowed Alan Jones to head home. Rowland in the home goal then had to make a great double save as Llan piled on the pressure. The game was now evenly poised with the next goal going to be the important factor in a close game. Shaun Williams almost scored it for Gresford when he forced Owen into a good save after good work by Alan Williams . With Craig Williams and Matt Davies keeping the Llangefni defence well occupied Gresford were looking for a much needed moral boosting win. But it was Llangefni who went ahead after seventy six minutes when their leading scorer Darren Thomas was left free on the edge of the box to fire home. Gresford created a great chance to equalise when Alan Williams fed the over lapping Kevin Tood but nobody was on hand to convert his excellent cross. Substitute Phil Jones them hit the Llangefni post as Gresford looked for the equaliser. Llangefni scored again though Thomas in the last minute to seal the three points.
