Game started with both sides looking to get on the score sheet. Gresford had the first clear cut chance when Alan Williams headed just wide. Pwhelli then saw a good attack finished off with a shot that flew passed the post. A long Pwhelli ball then almost created a chance but Gareth Rowland in the Gresford goal was quick off his line to smother the ball. Both sides then had a good chance to open the coring. A Pwhelli shot going over he bar and Jon Taylor shutting straight at the keeper when well placed. A Shaun Williams through ball then created a chance for Craig Williams whose chip beat the keeper but missed the target. Pwhelli wet ahed on forty three minutes with a rasping shot into the roof of the net. They almost doubled their lead on the stroke of half time. Rowland again saving well at the feet of a Pwhelli forwad.Rowland thwarted Pwhelli again at the start of the seconf half after bad mix up in the Gresford Attack. Matt Davies and Jon Taylor then had chances to equalise for Gresford. Gresford then shot themselves in the foot as they onceded poor goal from five yards out. Kevin Hope and Craig Williams had chances to get Gresford back into the game but failed to hit the target. Substitute Eddie fired Gresford into action with some impressive left wing play but the resolute Pwhelli defence failed to give in and played the game out to go into the third round.
