Penley 2 v Gresford reserves 0 Looking to put last weeks disapointment behind them the reserves arrived at Penley full of belief they could secure the points from this encounter. But it was Penley who started the brighter and got themselves into the lead just before half time. It was only after some alterations at half time did Gresford threaten the Penley goal. George Koumas who replaced Matt Jones had the chance that proved to be a vital turning point in the game. He raced through and unleashed a shot that caught the advancing keeper but still was goal bound, but it was the defence of Penley that chased it up and cleared the ball off the line. Almost the next Penley attack saw goal No 2 and the points belonged to the hosts. To add to Gresford's nightmare, goalkeeper Mike Platt was carried off with a knock to the knee.
