Match Report
In a first half dominated by a swirling wind and persistent rail fall neither side got into anything like their normal football. Owain Roberts for Bala looked the most likely to crate anything and he had the first shot of the name. Shaun Williams then latched onto a Phil Jones free kick but his effort was well off target. Neil Fisher then found his way into the referees notebook for preventing Mike price from taking a quick freekick. On twenty eight minutes Gresford went ahead, Shaun Williams chasing the ball down the left and delivered an excellent cross that Jon Taylor dispatched with a powerful header. Gresford then enjoyed a good spell and almost doubled the advantage from a Phil Jones corner. Kevin Todd was then beaten by Owain roberts but his goal bound shot was cleared off the line by an alert Chris Newman

The second half started in sunshine and with Bala taking the game to Gresford, it came as no surprise when the equalised within five minutes of the restart, Jason Jones heading home from fifteen yards. Gresford almost equalised within minutes. Craig Williams feeding Jon Taylor but his chip over the advancing Bala keeper went wide. Bala were now taking the game to Gresford and went ahead on sixty three minutes when Owain Roberts ran through a hesitant Gresford defence to fire an angled drive past Mike Price. Gresford caused panic in the Bala penalty are five minutes later and almost leveled the tie before Bala scrambled the ball way. Bala sealed the game with ten minutes left Marc Griffiths beating Kevin Todd before crossing for Neil Fisher to head home. Gresford through caution to the wind in trying to get back into the game leaving Bala some fine opportunities to add to their tally. The nearest Gresford came to reducing the deficit was when a Darren Jones shot from a Wyn Jones through ball was cleared for a corner.
Bala now await the outcome of the Glantraeth, Llandyrnog game to see who they will face in their second final in two seasons
