Guilsfield were quicker off the mark than Gresford and Gareth Rowland and Mike Gronnow combined to thwart an early attack .Gresford's first attack saw a good ball from Danny Purdie find Craig Williams but Chris Williams in the home goal was quickly off his line to smother. Rolls were revered ten minutes later when Williams laid on a chance for Purdie but his volley was way off target. Gresford were now creating chances with Craig Williams and Danny Purdie going close to breaking the deadlock . A long kick from Gareth Rowland then put Williams in on goal but the home keeper was again quickly off his line |

Phil Jones was next to try his luck as he latched on to a Craig Williams ball only to fire wide. The break through finally came in the thirty eighth minute after a Matt Williams free kick caused panic in the home defence and Purdie fired a cross shot into the roof of the net. Five minutes later Gresford were turned down what appeared to be a blatant penalty as Craig Williams was felled by Charlie Jones.

Gresford started brightly and a good run by Craig Williams was halted with a foul on the edge of the box. Phil Jones firing the free kick wide. Guilsfield then had a couple of long range shots that failed to trouble Rowland in the Gresford goal. Danny Purdie then created a great chance for Phil Jones who saw his shot brilliantly turned onto the bar by Williams in the home goal. Wyn Jones then almost created Gresford's second goal with a great run and cross that was cleared for a corner. Guilsfield then saw their best move of the game halted by a Jon Ratcliffe tackle in the Gresford penalty area. On seventy five minutes Gresford doubled their advantage after a move involving Ratcliffe and Purdie saw Phil Jones score at the far post for his fifteenth league goal of the season |

MOM THE WHOLE TEAM |
Simon Holloway then created a couple of chances for Gresford to sow up the game with some fine play down the left flank. Dave Lloyd then over lapped down the left and fired in a great cross that Holloway should of scored off. In the last minute Gresford added a third after a great run down the right by Danny Purdie saw Wyn Jones scramble home at the far post.
