Gresford recalled Craig Williams to the starting eleven with Alan Williams and new signing Gareth Williams on the bench as they went looking to further extend their good away record.
Guilsfield full of confidence started brightly and hit the bar and the post in the first 20 minutes, Gresford also hit the bar just after that. Gresford were too slow to everything and Guilsfield scored a very soft opening goal, they had a throw in the left back spot and had enough time to play a neat triangle before crossing for the unmarked striker to score with a diving header in off the post. Gresford created very little in first half apart from a Kevin Todd effort from a corner that he placed wide of the post. HALF TIME

Gresford started brightly taking the game to Guilsfield but still creating few scoring chances. The home side were happy to sit back and counter attack. In one of these raids they were awarded a free kick right on the edge of the box when clearly it was inside the box, from the freekick they scored when the striker struck a shot straight through the disintegrating wall into the bottom corner. Gresford then changed some personnel with Alan Williams coming on for Ian Matthias and Gareth Williams for Robbie Jones and changed to their formation to thee at the back and took the game to Guilsfield without creating anything clear cut. Another change saw Johnny Taylor come on In the last minute Phil Jones danced round the defence only to see his squared the ball go straight to the opposition, this just about summing up Gresford’s performance. No lack of effort in the second half but a lack of quality
