Gresford have been woeful at home but have a better record than most when on their travels. It was an end to end first half at Holyhead Hotspur which Gresford just shaded. Craig Williams had a blatant penalty appeal turned down and at the opposite end a cross from Nicky Dumbarton was met by Casey Jones whose shot flashed agonisingly close to Mike Prices cross bar. Right at the start of the second half, Mike Doutch denied Craig Williams and Johnny Ratcliffe went close with a thumping header from a Phil Jones pin point corner.

In an almost identical move shortly after, Matt Davies out-jumped the Spurs defence, sent a downwards header into the path of Craig Williams who made no mistake from close range. The good work however was undone when a Terry Williams corner was flicked on by Kurt Williams and Aaron Bailey beat Price from close range. Kev Todd lifted Gresford's mood, firing home the winning goal in the 68 th minute after being released by Shaun Williams after another accurate Jones corner.
