With nothing at stake in this end of season game both sides failed to create a singlr chance in the first twenty minutes. Gresford did have a series of freekicks that came to nothing. Gresford did create the better of the chances as the game reached half time with Alan Williams coming nearest to scoring wehen his header from a Shaun Williams corner was tipped over the bar by Jamie Hulse. Simon Brown looked Llan's best bet to create a chance with his left wing runs.

Gresford started the second half with more purpose and took the lead in the fifty first minute, a Phil Jones cross was deflected to Jon Taylor and he fired into the top corner from fifteen yards. Llandrynog should have equalised ten minutes later but John Slater fired over the bar after a rare slip by Mike Gronnow. Slater had another chance with five minutes but this time he shot straight at Gareth Rowland in the home goal. Llan then hit the bar with a cross come shot from Roger beech. Criag Williams sealed a last game of the season win for Gresford after a Jon Talor shot had been pushed out by Hulse in the Llandyrnog goal. The nearest Llan came to reducing the deficit saw John Slater shot blocked by Rowland but the flag was already raised for offside.
