With a lot of games in a short time till the end of the season manager Alan (Sammy) Jones (pictured below) shuffled his starting eleven after his teams three nil win against Flint Town United on Easter Monday. Wyn Jones and Carl Andrews were recalled with Simon Holloway, Danny Purdie and Matt Williams making it a very stong substitutes bench

Gresford were quick off the mark and took the game to Llandyrnog and it came as no surprise when leading scorer Phil Jones (pictured below )opened their account with a great volley from a Jon Ratcliffe cross after seven minutes.

 

Gresford dominated the first half playing with confidence and desire. Their second goal came after the ever alert Craig Williams (pictured below) capitalised on a weak kick from the Llandrnog keeper to score from close range..

Gresford with man of the match Alan Williams in excellent form continued to control the match in the second half with Craig Williams adding his second and Gresford's third to give them their second three nil home win of the week.

In his post match interview Sammy was extremely buoyant. “It was a terrific team display and it was as good a performance that we have witnessed. Slap was extremely dominant in midfield, he was quick to close people down, his tackling was superb and once again he showed some great leadership qualities"
