With both sides on the wrong end of poor recent results the game started slowly with nobody wanting to make a mistake.
Llangefni were first to create a chance but Mike Price in the Gresford goal came them at bay until the twenty fifth minute when Llangefni's Geralt Jones scored with a header . |

Llangefni continued to take the game to Gresford with Price preventing them from scoring on numerous occaisions. The introduction of substutute Darren Jones swung the game in Gresford's favour and for twenty minutes they took the game to Llangefni withourt creating many chances. |
This changed on eighty seven minutes when substitute Matt Williams scored the equaliser. Gresford then pushed for a winning goal insted of holding onto for a draw. They had seven men in the Llangefni penalty area when they gave the ball away for not the first time during the game. A quick ball from Graham Austin resulted in Geralt Jones lobbing the ball over the advancing Price for the winning goal three minutes into added time
