Gresford traveled to Llangefni without the suspended Carl Andrews and the unavialable Alan Williams and Wyn Jones. Eighteen year old Darren Jones came in for his first team debut and youngsters Shaun Winter and Luke Peate joined Chris Newman on the substitutes bench

Gresford started brightly and should have been ahead in the first minute. Simon Holloway seeing his goal bound effort well saved by the home keeper. The remainder of the half saw Gresford dig deep to keep Llangefni at bay with some excellent defensive work

Gresford defence continued to frustrate Llangefni at the start of the second half until a defencsive lapse down their right hand side resulted in Llan taking a fortunate lead. Danny Purdie almost equalised for Gresford but his well struck shot was tipped away by the home keeper. A sprited Gresford with four eighteen or under players in their squad gave league leaders a run for their money until they conceded a second goal thirteen minutes from time
