Gresford fielded an unchanged team with Chris Newman replacing Matt Davies on the bench
Gresford started brightly and in their first attack Carl Andrews fed Craig Williams down the right but his dangerous cross was intercepted by the Llangefni defence. On twelve minutes a long clearance by goalkeeper Gareth Rowland found Simon Holloway who's shot was blocked by the Llangefni keeper. Craig Williams then broke clear down the right but his cross was cleared. In a similar attack on twenty six minutes Williams broke in to the Llangefni penalty area only to be fouled and from the resulting penalty Phil Jones gave Gresford the lead. Llangefni were frustrated in their attempt to attack by a stubborn and well organized Gresford back four. Jon Ratcliffe almost doubled Gresford's lead but his cross come shot hit the top of the Llangefni bar. Llan then almost equalized from an overhead kick but the effort went wide. Gresford went two up in the thirty sixth minute, Craiog Williams broke down the right and his cross was headed into the top corner by Carl Andrews for his first goal in two years. Llangefni then had a ten minute spell of attacking with Kevin Todd having to clear off the line and Gareth Rowland saving a goalbound effort. Llan reduced the deficit in the fouteth minute with a shot into the top corner

HALF TIME: GRESFORD ATHLETIC 2 LLANGEFNI TOWN 1

Llangrfni started the second half brightly and Shaun Williams had to clear one goalbound shot off the line and Mike Gronnow threw himself at the ball to block another. On sixty one minutes Gresford went three one ahead with a goal involving Phil Jones and Craig Williams that was converted by Simon Holloway. Llangefni then had a player sent off. In Gresford's next attack Jon Ratcliffe saw his twenty yard drive almost stretch Gresford's lead. Gresford should have then been awarded another penalty when Craig Williams was fouled but the referee waved play on.
With time running out Gresford almost added to their lead but Wyn Jones's shot was straigt at the keeper, Gareth Rowland in the home goal then had to make a double save as Llangefni tried to get back into the game
