GRESFORD ATHLETIC RESERVES 2 BRADLEY VILLA 1

Bradley Villa at home, our first home fixture with no slope or need for excuses a chance to get some points on the board.

Again we started slowly and the game was very untidy with both sides failing to keep control of the ball. As the game progressed Gresford started to create chances and from the first real move of the match carved the Bradley defence open like a juicy piece of beef. The magical Broady played in the promising Josh Page to beat his man and slide a great ball into the heart of the box, despite Owen being pole-axed for a certain penalty the referee allowed play on for Keano to open his account with a cool finish from 15 yards

We failed to build on this early lead and wasted at least two good chances before the break to kill the game off and went into half time still looking very disjointed.

The 2 nd period started much the same failing to keep possession and make the away side work harder than they'd had to in the first half and whilst this continued there was always a chance of conceding.

Enough said, after missing a hat full of second half chances Bradley broke clear and even with the Arsenal hand up for off-side play was let continue and they blasted clear of Trowie.

We continued to have the lion share of the game but it looked like the game was going to run away from us, time for the subs, and on came, Hughsie and Sean replacing Lloydie and Josh Page with three up front for the remaining 15 minutes. The gamble eventually paid off with a great ball over the top (big hoof) from Chal for man of the match Owen to break clear and lob the advancing keeper from 20 yards. Game over with only a couple of minutes left.

Whilst missing some good chances, first points on the board and some encouraging performances.

The TWA Team Gnome award was rather dubiously given to Sam Ainge for what was reported as criminal damage to Trust property (under investigation).
