MATCH REPORT
In a game billed as the title decider both teams started nervously with chances few and far between in the first fifteen minutes. The first chance when it cam went to Castell Alun's Neil Ellis but he fired well over the bar. Phil Jones then created a half chance for Gresford that came to nothing. On twenty five minutes Castell Alun went ahead when a long ball fell to the feet of Craig Summerville who side footed past a stranded Mike Price. Phil Jones looked Gresford's best chance of grabbing an equaliser and one splendid run resulted in Chris Broadhurst heading straight at Ben Jones in the Castell Alun Colts goal . Castell Alun then created a couple of chances before Owen Roberts saw a volley go over the Castell Alun bar. Five minutes before the break Neil Ellis doubled Castell Alun's lead, poking home from close range after a right wing cross that evaded Price in the home goal.

Gresford went looking for the goal to get them back into the game and a Phil Jones corner was only partially cleared to Max Peate whose shot was held by Ben Jones. Steve Halliwell then almost gifted Castell Alun a third but Mike Price was quick off his line to block Jack Jones as he looked odds on to score. Gresford made three substitutions in trying to get back into the game and one of these, Craig Williams, reduced the deficit after good work by Steve Halliwell and Chris Broadhurst. Gresford took the game to Castell Alun now but with Craig Evans in commanding form at the back for Castell could not find away though. Then on the coulter attack Jack Jones should have scored for Castell Alun but his lob went over the bar. Gresford did create a few half chances but on the night it was Castell Alun's stubborn defence who came out on top.
