NAZAM DRUID WELSH NATIONAL DIVISION ONE
OVERTON RECREATION 0 GRESFORD ATHLETIC RESERVES 1
----------
Ady and Sam named a full strength side for this top of the table clash at Overton who knew the importance of landing all three points from the game to secure a place in the Premier Division in May.

Overton were in a dogged mood and it seemed so obvious they wanted the points in the first half far more than we did.  Pat Loughlin won so many aeriel battles with our defence who were at sixes and sevens at times.  Keeno and Cargo were over-run in midfield where the hosts always had that extra man and how we were still in the game at the break it was difficult to comprehend.

Overton paid a heavy price for not putting the game to bed and will still be asking themselves how they failed to achieve at least a point from this epic, missing three clear cut chances.  The second period was a complete reverse of the opening half and with adjusted tactics Gresford gained in strength and confidence and a 63rd minute strike which to be fair was not cleanly hit by Chris Broadhurst settled the match. Gareth Pugh Jones should have doubled the Gresford tally and his fine run ended with him shooting wide of the post. The maximum points puts us eleven points clear at the top.
