Penycae away from home is always a difficult place to go and get a result and Saturday proved no exception in very blustery and showery conditions.

We started kicking into the wind up the slope and despite a mixed start we created a couple of good openings possibly against the run of play. This continued and from a powerful run and superb Robbie Jones cross Owen leapt like a frog to nod home. Penycae continued their good work and tremendous effort causing us a lot of trouble, some of which was of our own making.

We were ready for half time and must say were lucky to go in at half time holding onto a slender one goal advantage.

With all the elements now in our favour we started brightly and really took the game to the home side with the midfield being bossed by Richie Carr and Keano. It wasn't long before we began to open up the Penycae defence with the first opportunity falling to Mr. Lloyd who failed to find the net after a sweeping move. Our defence remained steady after one jittery moment not allowing the home side a shot on goal.

Chances continued to be carved out with their keeper making great saves to deny Broady twice and divert another goal-bound effort from Owen round the post. On another day it could have finished 5 – 0, but all credit to the opposition they remained committed and stuck to their task well. I'm sure there will be a few upsets at Penycae this season.

Overall a good result with some encouraging performances.

The TWA Team Gnome award was awarded to Gary Robinson whilst attempting a long throw in front of the Penycae faithful somehow ended on his back side did he fall or was he pushed.
