NAZAM DRUID WELSH NATIONAL DIVISION ONE
RUABON VILLA 1 GRESFORD ATHLETIC 4
Back to league duty with a tricky trip to Ruabon Villa.
The home side started brightly having the best of the early exchanges and were unlucky not to take the lead following a number of good opportunities.
However, the lads stuck to the task on what was a very difficult playing surface and were rewarded on the half hour mark when Richie was able to latch onto the loose ball to scramble home. This settled the nerves and we went into the break with the one goal advantage.
Half Time Rubaon Villa 0 Gresford Athletic Reserves 1

This wasn't a lead that we held onto for long with the home side levelling the game shortly after the re-start. With what proved to be some good tactical changes Johnny Taylor (fresh from his trip round the Bodwyn looking for Ady only to find the new resident Gary Jackson) being introduced and Sutty slotting in at centre back enabling Wynn to move into midfield. Johnny was a breath of fresh continuing to trouble the evergreen Bridey, with his first touch glancing the cross bar and then within minutes Robbie Jones made it 2 – 1.

The domination continued to tell and midway through the half Johnny made it 3 – 1 to put the game beyond reach. There was no let up for Ruabon who had lost there shape somewhat with Broady stepping up to complete the 4 – 1 score line.
With the remaining subs now on the momentum was kept going allowing us to finish strongly.
