At home to Ruthin with a depleted squad due to the Rugby, but with credit to all concerned, both teams were relatively strong.

The game started poorly with both teams struggling with the blustery conditions and what you could only describe as a very lively pitch and with no disrespect to the opposition they didn't appear very strong. We settled quicker and whilst not being at our best we looked the brighter and started to pose a threat to the away defence, with chances opening up. Then up popped young Jason to find some space in the box to despatch the ball neatly into the net to make 1 – 0

Before the break we had two good opportunities to wrap the game up along with Broady producing the save of the match with a great strike from 20 yards.

From the re-start it was much the same with the opposition providing very little threat to our defence that was being marshalled soundly, with Ruthin probably not having a shot on goal. With the game settling down our younger players were growing in confidence and proving more than able at this level and like the first half the game started to open up.

Following some good work down the left the ball found Robbie unmarked in the box who made light work of what was a tricky finish. We continued to cause problems with Owen working tirelessly and the partnership with Broady improving all the time. Having been thwarted by the post moments earlier Owen got his reward when he pinched the ball from the feet of Kev Hope to slide the ball home to make 3 – 0 at full time.
