The 2017/18 season get underway tomorrow night as the reserves face Mold Alex at Clappers lane in a 6:15pm kick off.
There a some familiar and some new faces on show as the reserves aim to build on the success of last season.
Reserves captain Graeme Sutcliffe is still on the side-lines having recently gone under the knife for the knee injury he sustained at the end of last season. Gibbo (Llay Welfare), Rich Jones (Johnstown) and Worthy (Mynydd Isa Spartans) have all moved on to new clubs and good luck to them for the season.
We have brought in a couple of players from the wilderness that haven't played recently and they will add much needed experience to the team. Danny Owen, Robbie Jones and Richie Carr and maybe even Mike Gronnow (he'll never really retire)will all feature for the reserves this season.
Joel Roberts has joined us from Llay and will be an excellent addition as an attacking option. Youngster Aron Stanaway joins from Malpas and Joe Moss joins following a year’s sabbatical since leaving Airbus.
The rest of the squad is full of lads who played throughout last season and contributed to the first teams' excellent season in which 13 reserve team players made the step up to represent the first team.
It should be another really tough season in the reserves division. We've lost Brymbo and Holywell which is a real shame but replacing them are Flint reserves and Buckley reserves so the division will be even tougher.
